Holy Shroud Guild
As the Enrie’s photographs of the Shroud spread across Europe, The Shroud was now reaching across the oceans. And with that, many would seek to learn more about the relic. One major event started from a letter received by Group Captain Leonard Cheshire. The letter was penned by Mrs. Veronica Woollam who was the mother of an ailing 10 year old daughter, Josephine. Knowing Captain Cheshire is an acquainted to the King of Italy, Mrs. Woollam’s requested for her daughter if she could be blessed with the relic of the Holy Shroud. She explained that Josephine received last rite and her doctors have given her no hope of survival. What was a supposed to be a beautiful deed orchestrated by Captain Cheshire, instead, turned into accusations of a selfish motive to promote his own organization. It seems also infighting between members of the Holy Shroud Guild is exhibited when Dr. Ceroni decided on his own to contact the exile King for his permission to have a private Ostension and for a team of Americans to examine the Shroud.
